The objective of the Chaoster project is to create a collaborative software system for crisis management on mobile platform using new paradigms. We are also going to research and develop the enabling technologies and algorithms, in the fields of networking, communication, group decision, context identification and mobile, semantic and cooperative software. The project aims to have an interdisciplinary approach.

Earth observation is a growing field of interest in various application areas, such as monitoring agricultural activity, detection of pollution and environmental crimes, management of urban area expansion, crisis management, including civil protection, or homeland security. However, the evaluation of the collected remotely needs exhausting human intervention up to now due to the rich and continuously augmenting content and various aspects of assessment. For this reason, necessity of automated recognition problems in remote sensing is raised by both national and international demands.

RLW Navigator aims to develop an innovative Process Navigator to configure, integrate, test and validate applications of Remote Laser Welding (RLW) in automotive assembly addressing today’s critical needs for frequently changing operating conditions and product-mix provisions. Thus, RLW Navigator will crucially serve as an enabler for future energy efficient smart factories. Our Laboratory is responsible for configuring RLW robotic cells, generating optimal off-line robot programs, as well as simulating the operation of cells.

MTMT (acronym for Storage for the Hungarian Scientific Publications), maintained and operated by the Hungarian Academy of Science is the official database containing information of scientific publications published by Hungarian scientists.

Consulting this database is an indispensable tool to assess the scientific performance of a scientific institution’s or that of a scientist’s.

MTA SZTAKI NSIT is maintaining and operating the servers providing the MTMT web services.

Due to sharp increase in the number of video recording devices, the digital multimedia can be produced at many sources and can be injected at most different places into a fully distributed and multimodal environment. The large amount of multimedia data is produced and consumed in most different quality, with most different aims and requirements. The aim of the project is apply formal and combinatorial optimisation methods in the development of novel distribution layer for multimedia delivery considering the above video usage pattern.

The lean usage of resources and improvement of energy efficiency have been receiving increasing attention in recent years, and even the less environmentally conscious will have to change their consumption practices due to rising energy prices as well as more and more strict regulations. In some cases, such adaptation may require in-depth expert knowledge and thorough planning, implementation and operation procedures, as is the case with the energy management of large public buildings.

The All-Electric Aircraft is a major target for the next generation of aircraft to lower consumption of non-propulsive power and thus fuel burn. To eliminate hydraulic circuits, pumps and reservoirs, Electro Mechanical Actuators (EMA) are mandatory but now need to meet cost, reliability and weight requirements from the airframers.
