The Industry 4.0 National Technology Platform was established under the leadership of the Institute for Computer Science and Control (SZTAKI), Hungarian Academy of Sciences, with the participation of research institutions, companies, universities and professional organizations having premises in Hungary, and with the full support and commitment of the Government of Hungary, and specifically that of the Ministry of National Economy.
MTA SZTAKI participated in the development and implementation of the Digital Repository on Water Management whose eLearning part consists of 40 subjects. It contains several thousands of multimedia elements (pictures, videos and animations) and a huge amount of mathematical formulas besides the textual parts of the eLearning training materials of the subjects which makes online learning possible. The training materials comply with the international SCORM standard to support the reusability.
FameLab is the world’s leading science communication competition. It spotlights the science communicators of tomorrow, who can show off their area of expertise in a truly engaging way. Cheltenham Festivals launched the first FameLab in 2005, and in 2007 partnered with British Council to take the model worldwide. Since then more than 9,000 scientists have participated from all around the globe.
The EOSC-hub project creates the integration and management system of the future European Open Science Cloud that delivers a catalogue of services, software and data from the EGI Federation, EUDAT CDI, INDIGO-DataCloud and major research e-infrastructures. This integration and management system (the Hub) builds on mature processes, policies and tools from the leading European federated e-Infrastructures to cover the whole life-cycle of services, from planning to delivery.
The mission of CloudiFacturing is to optimize production processes and producibility using Cloud/HPC-based modelling and simulation, leveraging online factory data and advanced data analytics, thus contributing to the competitiveness and resource efficiency of manufacturing SMEs, ultimately fostering the vision of Factories 4.0 and the circular economy. CloudiFacturing will empower over 60 European organizations (many of them being manufacturing SMEs) and will support about 20 cross-national application experiments that will primarily be selected via two Open Calls.
Plastic bottle extruding and labeling development for building new innovative, environment friendly packaging materials and technology: The goal of the project is to develop a new environment friendly packaging and labeling material and technology. Nowadays, the labels are stuck with various adhesives, which generates extra chemical washing steps the recycling phase of these bottles. The new technology - developed in the framework of this project - targets to use thermal bonding of the labels without any added glue.
The main, overall objective of the project is to establish the Centre of Excellence in Production Informatics and Control (EPIC CoE) as a leading, internationally acknowledged focus point in the field of cyber-physical production systems. Define a generic pluggable framework, called MiCADO (Microservices-based Cloud Application-level Dynamic Orchestrator) that supports optimal and secure deployment and run-time orchestration of cloud applications. The project will provide a reference implementation of this framework by customising and extending existing, typically open source solutions. Moreover, it will demonstrate via large scale close to operational level SME and public sector demonstrators the applicability and impact of the solution.
LinkingDanube deals with insufficient provision of cross-border traveller information on public transport, particularly considering cross-border commuting and mobility in rural areas. The overall project objective is to foster environmentally-friendly mobility options and balanced accessibility in the Danube Region through transnational, interoperable and multimodal journey planning in urban and rural areas. Currently no suitable multimodal, transnational system for travellers exists anywhere in Europe.
In this project we address a new and very important issue: the observation of small backcountry wetland areas surrounded by different areas, hosting important species and delivering essential ecosystem services and biodiversity. Although these patches are small one by one, but together they can contribute to the wetland cover area with a very high rate – their protection and mapping is a need.
