Launch of the German-Hungarian EARAS EUREKA project with the participation of HUN-REN SZTAKI

The German-Hungarian EUREKA project titled EARAS (Energy-aware robotic assembly systems) held its kick-off meeting in Budapest.

The goal of the project is the development of decision support tools for the design of robotic assembly systems so that they provide the required production capacities with minimal total cost of ownership, with special attention to minimizing energy costs.

In the project, Hepenix Ltd provides production technology knowledge and industrial case studies, HUN-REN SZTAKI develops software tools for computing the optimal production system configuration, Fraunhofer IGCV performs the detailed energy evaluation of the production system, whereas flexis AG develops production scheduling tools that take advantage of the temporal flexibilities in the production system to minimize energy cost.
