Paks framework contract

In the framework of the several decade long successful cooperation between MTA SZTAKI and the MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd., SZTAKI is providing independent expert assistance in the preparation and execution of the I&C refurbishment projects of the NPP. The most important tasks of the actual framework contract are the following:

• The independent verification of the reliability-related documentation of the Reactor Rod Control System (RRCS) refurbishment project.

• Regarding the preparation for the software upgrade of the Reactor Protection System (RPS): elaboration of the workflow for the verification and validation activities.

• The development of the functional specification for the of the UTS refurbishment; the Universal Test System (UTS) is an external test system of the RPS designed and implemented by SZTAKI in the years 1997-2002.

• The review of the standards and guides of the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) relevant to the refurbishment projects of the Paks NPP, preparation of recommended requirements.

• The independent verification of the completed refurbishment preparation studies with respect to the above relevant volumes.
