The Industry 4.0 National Technology Platform was established under the leadership of the Institute for Computer Science and Control (SZTAKI), Hungarian Academy of Sciences, with the participation of research institutions, companies, universities and professional organizations having premises in Hungary, and with the full support and commitment of the Government of Hungary, and specifically that of the Ministry of National Economy.
The main, overall objective of the project is to establish the Centre of Excellence in Production Informatics and Control (EPIC CoE) as a leading, internationally acknowledged focus point in the field of cyber-physical production systems. MTA SZTAKI, EMI Laboratory has started a 24 month long, EUREKA international R&D&I cooperation project under the acronym: INTRO4.0 , on the 1st of April, 2016. Due to the international EUREKA project class, the national partners prepare cooperation based efforts, in this case with the German KIT, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, which acts also as the coordinator. Among the Hungarian partners, HEPENIX Research and Development Ltd. plays the national industrial coordinator’s role, and SZTAKI is the RTD academic partner.
Started in January 2016, the EXCELL project (Actions for Excellence in Smart Cyber-Physical Systems applications through exploitation of Big Data in the context of Production Control and Logistics) foresees the collaboration of researchers from four European countries (Hungary, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium) in the field of Cyber-Physical Systems and Big Data applications serving production and logistics networks.
Since autumn 2015, our laboratory cooperates with Hoya Szemüveglencse Gyártó Magyarország Ltd. within the topics of simulation analysis and „Industry 4.0”. The primary goal of the project is to model different segments of the company’s plant in Mátészalka, according to different capacity planning and process improvement criteria. Within the developments and workshops of the cooperation, the engineers of Hoya picked up the basics of simulation modelling, enabling them to use this technology in the everyday practice.
Our laboratory has a long-term and fruitful partnership with the Aventics (former Bosch Rexroth) company. The factory, located in Eger (Hungary), produces pneumatic components and systems. Within the partnership our laboratory provides support to the introduction and application of advanced decision making tools in the manufacturing and logistics areas of the company.
The European manufacturing industry is facing challenges in terms of adaptability, flexibility and vertical integration. The SYMBIO-TIC project adresses these important issues towards a safe, dynamic, intuitive and cost effective working environment were inmersive and symbiotic collaboration between human workers and robots can take place.
In cooperation with Festo-AM Gyártó Ltd, simulation expert colleagues of the laboratory participated several simulation-oriented projects, aimed at analysing the production systems of the company according to various criteria. In most cases the purpose of the analysis were the early-stage evaluation of the production and logistics systems’, simulating dynamic and real production environment based on the criteria provided by the engineers of Festo.
Execute the research and development program, that was defined by the key regional members of manufacturing-machining-automotive-mechatronics branches. With national and global players, realization of future oriented, strategically important, technically clearly defined and interrelated, targeted research and development activities.
The RobustPlaNet project aims at developing an innovative technology-based business approach that will drastically change the current rigid supply chain mechanisms and the current product-based business models into collaborative and robust production networks able to timely deliver innovative product-services in very dynamic and unpredictable, global environments.
