Call for a new smartphone competition on the National Day of Poetry

After the successful smartphone outdoor competition last year, the Municipality of Ferencváros and the eLearning Department of MTA SZTAKI have jointly prepared and organised a new competition on the scenes of childhood of Attila József.

The content of the competition is built on the English version of the walk called "Attila József in Ferencváros" freely available within GUIDE@HAND Budapest smartphone application. The competition will start at 9:00 am on 11th April, on the National Day of Poetry. 16 teams from schools in Ferencváros have already entered for the competition.

The competition starts on Ferenc square and ends at Attila József Memorial Place in Gát street. The track leads along important scenes of the poet's childhood. During the competition, the teams have to solve various games running on smartphones, in relation to the life of Attila József. The prizes will be awarded on a commemoration organised for the National Day of Poetry at Attila József Memorial Place starting at 12.00 The commemoration will be addressed by Menyhért Tamás, a writer, poet and member of the Presidium of the Hungarian Academy of Art. British Ambassador Iain Lindsay is also greeting the event and will personally award the prize to the winner.
