Zoltán Szabó, researcher at SZTAKI, was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary

The research advisor of the Systems and Control Lab of SZTAKI was awarded the medal for his "achievements in the field of control theory research and education".

President János Áder awarded Zoltán Szabó, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, research advisor of the Systems and Control Lab of SZTAKI, with the civilian branch of the Knight's Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit.

"In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of research and teaching of control theory, in particular the development of modern geometry-based control theory results and their application in the automotive industry, Béla Szabó Zoltán, program designer mathematician, is awarded a doctorate of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, research advisor of the Systems and Control Lab of the Eötvös Loránd Research Network's Institute for Computer Science and Control and professor at the Széchenyi István University, is awarded the Order of Merit of Hungary, civilian branch", reads the official citation.

Zoltan Szabo is a Doctor of Hungarian Academy of Sciences. As a Research Advisor of the Lab, he is Head of the Theory of Dynamical Systems”Research Group. His research interests include multivariable systems and robust control, system identification, fault detection with applications in power systems safety operations and also in the control of mechanical and vehicle structures. Currently, he is involved in activities related to reconfigurable control and robust control of linear parameter varying (LPV) systems.
