László Lovász is the President of the International Mathematical Union
We congratulate László Lovász, the world-famed Hungarian mathematician, on his being elected the President of the International Mathematical Union (IMU) for the period of 2007-10. The academician is the director of the Mathematical Institute, Loránd Eötvös University of Sciences and the member of the Institute Board, MTA SZTAKI.
The IMU is the most prominent mathematical organisation, internationally, with the aim of establishing and fostering increasingly close communication among mathematicians.
The membership is composed of acknowledged scientists from more than 60 countries.
