EuroScience Open Forum 2008
To be held in Barcelona, Spain, European Science Open Forum 2008 now invites submissions and suggestions from around the world.
ESOF2008 invites:
- Researchers in all disciplines from public institutions and firms to submit proposals of their leading research in the ESOF2008 Scientific Themes for Scientific Sessions
- Researchers, journalists, communicators, policy makers, business people and managers to submit proposals for Society and Science Sessions
- Insitutions, associations, researchers, businesses and individuals to submit proposals for Outreach Activities
ESOF2008 is an interdisciplinary, dynamic, innovative and European event. We invite you to participate in the creation of a Programme that presents the best of European science, technology and the humanities. One of the aims of ESOF is to foster science communication. We are open to creative formats, multidisciplinary panels and controversial debate. Special consideration will be given to proposals that bring different disciplines together; sessions that profile leading science issues and research; innovative session formats and communication styles; sessions that foster genuine debate and discussion.
Chosen Sessions will be profiled and promoted in all ESOF2008 communications and marketing materials, including the ESOF2008 website and web community, as well as the ESOF2008 programme. ESOF2008 will provide Session Organisers with a suitable venue, overall organisation of the session, logistical support and online tools to coordinate the session. Session Organisers will have preferential access to the accredited science journalists at ESOF2008 and support in organising their meetings with the media. ESOF2008 does not provide financial support to Session Organisers.
The Call for Proposals period begins March 1, 2007 and ends June 2007. The ESOF2008 Programme Committee has established a Selection Committee. Chaired by Sir Colin Berry, it will review and select sessions for the ESOF2008 Scientific Programme and the Society and Science Programme from the submitted proposals. Submitted proposals for Outreach Activities will be reviewed and selected by the ESOF2008 Local Organising Committee and the ESOF2008 Project Team.
