Successful ending at the Joint European DCI Summer School

The Joint DCI Summer School was organised by the Laboratory of Parallel and Distributed Systems in Budapest between 11th and 16th of July, 2011. The participants obtained a comprehensive picture about the most up-to-date and modern European research results.

The summer school has been arranged with the contribution of the representatives of the six biggest Grid- and Cloud oriented projects these days, such as EMI, IGE, EDGI, DEGISCO, StatusLab and EGI-InSpire. The educational program consisted of two parts: during the theoretical education the participants learned about the basics of the technology, and this knowledge helped them to deepen in this field of study during the hands-on sessions. Altogether 36 students from eleven countries came to the school with the same goal to build an overall distributed computing infrastructures based on the grid- and cloud resources of the most significant research institutes.
