During this very long period considerable experience was gained in the field of network developments, implementations, sourcing, management, and quality assurance. The department was very active in the establishment and development of the Hungarian Academic and Research Network for 20 years. Even today we are responsible for the management of several virtual private networks for Hungarian enterprises. Several feasibility studies were carried out for Hungarian mobile communication companies concerning the applicability of convergence technologies in the field of future service developments. The department is participating in the work of the Mobile Innovation Centre where our focus is the assessment and testing of new IMS based services and convergent solutions in the IMS environment.
